Commenting on a page

A comment is a note you attach to a page without changing the page. Your own pages are never edited by the app, so nothing you write here appears to anyone reading the file.

They are how you answer a page your agent just made: mark what is wrong, then tell the agent to read your comments and fix it.

Writing one

The comment strip sits below the page, the way comments sit under a post, and starts collapsed. Click its title to open it, write in the box at the bottom, and press Post.

Before you post, the strip offers two places to aim the note: the heading you are next to, or Whole page. Aiming at a heading is worth the extra click — it is what tells the agent which part you mean.

Finding them again

A note aimed at a heading also puts a small mark down the right edge of the page, at the height of that heading. Click a mark and the page jumps there, the strip opens, and that note is brought into view.

In the file list and the gallery, a page with open notes carries a count. Only unfinished notes are counted, so the number tells you what is still waiting.

Done, edit, delete

• Done settles a note. It stays in the strip, greyed, and stops counting. Reopen puts it back.
• Edit fixes the wording without losing the note's place in the thread or its time.
• Delete removes it for good.

Done is usually what you want. Deleting a handled note throws away the record of what you asked for.

Where they live

In .lite/comments.json, inside your Showspace. That is why an agent can read them — and why renaming a page needs a word to your agent. See The .lite folder and Renaming, moving and deleting.

If the heading a note was aimed at is edited away, the note is kept and says so rather than vanishing.
