Using OpenClaw with lite.computer

OpenClaw is a free, open-source personal assistant that runs on your own hardware. It links chat apps you already use, WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage and Slack among them, to an agent that can read and write files, run code and browse. It suits people who like to bring their own model API key.

It installs as a command-line gateway, and OpenClaw.app adds a menu bar companion on macOS 15 or later. The project began as Clawd and was later called Moltbot before taking its current name in January 2026.

Set it up

In lite.computer, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and open the Agent Helper. Copy the paragraph it gives you and paste it into ~/.openclaw/workspace/AGENTS.md, which OpenClaw loads every session.
Run the OpenClaw gateway on the Mac where lite.computer has your Showspace open. The pages it writes land in the app as they are saved.

Good to know

A message from your phone reaches the gateway on your Mac, and the Mac writes the page into your Showspace.
Scheduled jobs are built into the gateway, so a page you want every morning or every week can be set up once.
OpenClaw creates images once you set up an image provider. Ask for photos or illustrations in your brief, and it builds them into the page.
We have not tested OpenClaw with lite.computer ourselves. These instructions are based on research. Try saving one HTML page to your Showspace first. If a step needs correcting, email hello@lite.computer.

Is OpenClaw the same as Clawdbot or Moltbot?

Yes. The project started as Clawd, was renamed Moltbot, and became OpenClaw in January 2026. Many people wrote the first name as Clawdbot.

Can I ask OpenClaw for a page from my phone?

Yes. Send the request through a chat app connected to OpenClaw, such as WhatsApp or Telegram. The gateway on your Mac writes the page into your Showspace.
