Microsoft 365 Copilot

Copilot Cowork saves its files to OneDrive, and OneDrive syncs them into your Showspace on your Mac.

Microsoft 365 Copilot is Microsoft's paid assistant for work and school accounts. Copilot Chat drafts, summarizes and answers questions over your work data. Its agent, Copilot Cowork, sends email, schedules meetings, creates documents and runs tasks on a schedule.

It suits people in organizations that run on Microsoft 365. You reach Cowork in a browser at m365.cloud.microsoft, in the Microsoft Copilot desktop app for Mac and Windows, or on an iPhone or Android phone. The work itself happens in Microsoft's cloud, with files in OneDrive and SharePoint, and the OneDrive app brings those files down to your Mac.

Set it up

  1. In lite.computer, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and open the Agent Helper. Copy the paragraph. In OneDrive, create Documents/Cowork/skills/lite-computer/SKILL.md, so Cowork has it as a custom skill. Start the file with the lines below, then paste the Agent Helper paragraph underneath. Change the Mac folder path in it to your Showspace's place inside OneDrive. Save the file and start a new Cowork session.
  2. In Finder, open Cowork's output folder in your synced OneDrive. Right-click it and choose Always keep on this device, then open that folder in lite.computer as your Showspace. Use this folder's OneDrive location in your Cowork skill. To use an existing Showspace instead, move the HTML files Cowork makes into it.

Paste into Microsoft 365 Copilot

Turn my sales tracker spreadsheet into an interactive dashboard: filters for region and quarter, a sortable table of top accounts, charts that animate in and update as you filter, and a generated cover image at the top. Save it as a single self-contained HTML file in OneDrive, and rebuild it every Monday morning.

Good to know

  • Cowork works with files in OneDrive and SharePoint, so keep your Showspace inside OneDrive.
  • Setting the Showspace folder to Always keep on this device downloads each page to your Mac as soon as Cowork saves it.
  • Scheduled and email-triggered Cowork tasks run in the cloud while your Mac is off. Their pages sync into your Showspace when OneDrive next runs on your Mac.
  • Cowork creates images with its built-in image skill and saves them to your OneDrive output folder. Ask it for photos or illustrations, and it builds them into your report page.
  • We have not tested Microsoft 365 Copilot with lite.computer ourselves. These instructions are based on research. Try saving one HTML page to your Showspace first. If a step needs correcting, email hello@lite.computer.

Does Microsoft 365 Copilot work with lite.computer?

Yes, through OneDrive. Copilot Cowork saves the files it makes to OneDrive, and OneDrive syncs them to your Mac. Keep your Showspace inside OneDrive and each page appears in lite.computer.

Do I need a license for Copilot Cowork?

Yes. Cowork comes with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, with usage billed in Copilot Credits. The same license covers the Word, Excel and PowerPoint Agents.

Can I use Copilot Cowork from my phone?

Yes. Cowork is in the Microsoft Copilot app on iPhone and Android, as well as on the web and in the desktop app. Name your Showspace folder in OneDrive in the task, and the page syncs to your Mac.
